GED02
The GED Option #2 (GEDO #2) Program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and allows qualified Central High School to use the GED test battery to measure proficiency in place of high school credit for students who meet entrance requirements.
Entrance requirements
- A student at least 17 years of age.
- A student behind their grade-level peers in earning high school credit.
- A reading level at or above the 9th grade on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE).
- A minimum of ten (10) days of full attendance in the student's Central High academic coursework.
Program participation
After a meeting outlining the GEDO #2 option, a contract is created outlining expectations regarding: 1) hours of attendance (at least 15 hours a week), 2) academic and behavioral expectations, and 3) services to be provided by the school district.
In addition to the acadmic GED tests in Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies, students who qualify for the GEDO #2 path may be expected to complete experiential training in areas such as: vocational / technical education; art; music; foreign language; work experience; and, others.
All students must be continuously enrolled and attending the program until they are eligible to take the final GED test.

I have been a teacher for the last thirty years. I have enjoyed teaching students in all subject areas. One of my greatest joys is when I see the students I taught walk across the stage at graduation.
